The Sabelt Single Seater Formula 6 Point Harness is a bolt-in 6-point formula harness approved to FIA 8853-2016. Shoulder and lap webbing are 2 inch. Bolt-in installation. HANS friendly. Available in black, blue and red.

Formula harnesses differ from saloon harnesses primarily in the mounting geometry: they are designed for the narrow cockpit dimensions of a single-seater and the specific angles from a formula seat to the monocoque attachment points. Using a saloon harness in a formula car risks incorrect shoulder strap angles that can compromise safety in a crash.

HANS friendly means this harness is compatible with a HANS device but not specifically configured around it. Some formula series require HANS specific harnesses; check your class regulations before ordering. The Sabelt Lightweight Formula (172529) and Ultralight Formula (SABCCA622FRUN) are both HANS specific at similar or slightly higher price points.

At £175 this is the entry-level single-seater option in the Sabelt formula range. The same price as the Lightweight Formula but with HANS friendly rather than HANS specific designation.

Bolt-in installation anchors to the monocoque rear attachment points in the car. The installation must be done according to the seat manufacturer’s recommended angles for the formula car being used.

How long does an FIA harness last?

Does it work with a HANS device?
Yes: only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device, and this belt qualifies. If you run a device, check whether you want the HANS-specific shoulder cut and ask us which suits your setup.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.

Other models, the Taurus XL among them, depend on what is in the country, so they either leave the same day or take a few weeks.
