A Planted Technology seat bracket for the BMW M6 coupe on the E63 chassis, 2005 to 2010. Part number SB350.

The E63 M6 has the S85 V10, revving to 8,250rpm, and it is one of the more extraordinary engines BMW have put in a road car. It is also a heavy grand tourer, which shapes what you should put on this bracket.

The seats in one of these are complicated

An M6 of this generation can have powered adjustment in several planes, active side bolsters that inflate as the car corners, heating, memory and airbags. There is a great deal of mechanism and wiring in a single seat and removing one is a proper job rather than four bolts.

Tell us the specification before you order anything and we will work through what has to be dealt with. Done badly, the car will complain afterwards and the airbag system can end up in a state it should not be in.

What you are actually gaining

Not weight. In a car this heavy a steel framed shell will not move the scales. What changes is that you stop sliding about when the car is loaded up, which on a V10 M6 happens sooner than the size suggests.
