The GT86 is one of the better-supported cars in this catalogue for seat fitment. That range exists because the GT86 has been a popular budget track car since it launched, and the aftermarket followed.
The frame you choose depends on what you want from it: a fixed base mount bracket, a side mount subframe, or a sliding frame that keeps fore-aft adjustment built in.

Three fitting frames to choose from
Planted Technology make a base mount bracket at £222.60. M2 make a direct fit subframe at £166.20 which is side mount as standard but takes an optional adaption bar at £47.40 to convert it to base mount. PCI Racing offer a sliding sub frame at £330.00 confirmed for 2013 to 2022, which keeps fore-aft adjustment built in rather than needing a separate runner.

FIA competition bucket seats
Every seat here carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the cheapest FIA shell. The OMP TRS-X at £264.00 is listed for both base mount and side mount, so it fixes directly to a base mount frame with nothing added. The Sparco Evo QRT at £570.00 and the Cobra Nogaro Club Sport at £629.00 sit toward the top of the range.

Reclining sport seats
For a GT86 doing road miles, a reclining seat on a base mount frame keeps the backrest adjustment. The Sparco R333 and R100 Martini Racing both sit on the 345mm x 271mm bolt pattern, matching the Sparco runner above. The Recaro Pole Position with ABE at £866.25 is the premium option, road legal with type approval. The Corbeau PSR at £558.00 is sold as a pair and works out around half that per seat.

With three frames on offer, the choice mostly comes down to whether you want fore-aft adjustment built in or a fixed base mount platform. Cameron works out the fit and the best combination for a given car, so tell him the intended use and he will narrow the list.
Harnesses
There is no harness made specifically for the GT86, so you are fitting a universal belt and working out the mounting yourself. The standard rear seat belt mounts are not rated for harness shoulder strap loads, so one of the cages below, a bolt-in harness bar, or a fabricated anchor point is needed.
The Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 and the TRS Magnum 6 Point Superlite at £294.00 are both FIA 8853-2016. The TRS Magnum 4 Point at £139 is FIA 8854-1998. All three carry a stamped expiry date regardless of wear. For a road or trackday car, the Takata Drift II and III and the TRS Clubman belts cost less, though none of those four are HANS compatible.

This is one of the better-served cars in the catalogue for cages. Custom Cages offer an International Multipoint T45 Roll Cage Kit at £1,818.30 and a heavier International Multipoint Roll Cage at £2,462.40. Safety Devices list a 6 Point Bolt-In Roll Cage at £1,268.40 and SW Motorsports offer a bolt-in half cage at £772.00 for a lower budget or a car that just needs harness anchors.
If competing, check the specification against your class regulations before ordering, and keep the sign-off paperwork with the logbook. Pad any tube within reach of a helmet, and tell your insurer, because a cage is a notifiable modification.

Which frame does the GT86 need?
Three are confirmed: the Planted bracket at £222.60 (base mount), the M2 subframe at £166.20 (side mount, or base mount with the £47.40 adaption bar), and the PCI Racing sliding sub frame at £330.00 which keeps fore-aft adjustment built in.
Is this the same as the newer GR86?
No. The GR86 is the second-generation car, 2021 onwards, and has its own guide with a different confirmed frame and cage. This guide covers the first-generation GT86, 2012 to 2021.
Which cage should I choose?
It depends on budget and use. The SW Motorsports half cage at £772.00 suits a trackday car needing harness anchors. The Custom Cages T45 kit at £1,818.30 and the Safety Devices 6 Point Bolt-In at £1,268.40 are fuller options for a more serious build.
Which seat goes straight onto a base mount frame with no extra parts?
The OMP TRS-X at £264.00 and the Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 are both listed for base mount as well as side mount. Every reclining seat on this page is also base mount.
Which harness should I buy?
For FIA competition, the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 and the TRS Magnum 6 Point Superlite at £294.00 both meet 8853-2016, and the TRS Magnum 4 Point at £139 meets 8854-1998. For road and trackday use, the Takata Drift II and III and the TRS Clubman belts cost less but are not HANS compatible.
