Complete fitting kit: side mounts included. This frame comes with its own side mounts, so any side mount bucket seat bolts straight to it. You only need the seat and the frame, with no separate side mounts to buy.
Toyota launched the GT86 in 2012 as a rear-wheel-drive coupe built around balance rather than outright power. The FA20 boxer produces 200bhp, the car weighs around 1,250kg, and the result is a platform that rewards driver input and has attracted a loyal following in track days, the GT86 Cup one-make series, and drifting. The standard seats are low-backed and do give a degree of lateral support, but the shoulder area is wide enough that committed drivers feel they are sliding sideways on a quick corner.
These are the M2 Motorsport direct fit sub-frames for the Toyota GT86, part number M2-T004-0000. The frame replaces the factory runners, bolts to the OEM floor mounting points without drilling, and accepts any bucket seat with the industry-standard 290mm side mount spacing. Steel construction, black powder coat. Choose your side and fixing type at the top of the page.
The GT86 shares its chassis with the Subaru BRZ, and the two cars use the same floor mounting pattern. If you have a BRZ rather than a GT86, call us and we will confirm fitment before you order.
Seats with 290mm side holes fit directly: Recaro, Bride, OMP, Sparco, Cobra, Corbeau, Takata, MOMO, D2, Buddyclub and the rest of the standard list. Seats with only base (under-seat) mount holes need the M2 adaption bars alongside this frame.
The GT86 interior is relatively straightforward to work in, with clear access to the floor mounting bolts once the standard seat is out. Torque the floor bolts to factory specification and check buckle clearance with the new seat fitted before driving.
Fitting both seats? The 2 x M2 Toyota GT86 Direct Fit Subframes pairs them up in one purchase. Call us or use the contact page if you want to confirm fitment or check the current lead time before ordering.
