Top 5 reclining seat choices for your Citroen C2, including our fitting guide

The C2 VTS is the natural follow-on to the Saxo VTS in club motorsport: small, light, cheap to run and quick through a corner. The cabin is tight by modern standards, and shell width matters here as much as seat price. On a C2, wider shells can foul the door card, so measuring the gap before buying saves a return trip.

The factory seats cope on the road but they were built for a city car, not a track day driver. Side bolsters are shallow, the foam wears quickly under regular circuit use, and with a harness on you will brace against the door card rather than be held by the seat. A reclining sport seat paired with the right fitting frame fixes that without giving up the rear seats or the seatbelt.

  • Two fitting frames stocked for the C2: Sparco (uses the C2's own factory sliders) and OMP (opens up the 405mm pattern)
  • Sparco frame needs no separate runner purchase for any seat in this guide
  • Low cabin: the Corbeau SVR is the recommended pick for taller drivers
  • Both frames bolt to the factory floor mounting points, both sold per side
  • All five seats in this guide fit the Sparco frame's 345mm x 271mm pattern

The C2 VTS. Frame choice comes first: the Sparco route is the simpler install, the OMP route opens a wider seat range.

The two frame routes into a Citroen C2

We stock two fitting frames for the C2, and they give you different options. A frame is the vehicle-specific base that bolts to the floor in place of the standard runners, and your choice decides which seats will fit. On this car there is also a practical difference: the Sparco frame works with the C2’s own factory sliders, which keeps the install simple and cuts the cost of the runner kit. The OMP frame needs sliders to be added, but it opens up the 405mm seat bolt pattern as well.

345

Sparco subframe

Part 00499042, £94.20 inc VAT a side. RHD driver and passenger listed separately. Works with the C2's own factory sliders, no separate runner purchase needed. Takes 345mm x 271mm pattern seats.

345+405

OMP subframe

Part HC834, £123.50 inc VAT a side. RHD driver and passenger. Covers both 345mm x 271mm and 405mm x 290mm patterns, adding OMP and Recaro seats to the options. Needs separate sliding runners.

The number that decides it

Every reclining seat bolts down through a base mount pattern. On the C2, the Sparco frame covers the 345mm x 271mm pattern, and all five seats in this guide use that pattern. The OMP frame extends the options to include 405mm x 290mm, which is useful if you want a Recaro or OMP seat on the car. All three Corbeau seats in this guide are drilled for both the 291mm Cobra pattern and the 345mm Sparco pattern, so they work on either frame. The Sparco R100 and R500 are 345mm only, and they also work on either frame.

Pick the seat firstOnce you have settled on a seat, buy the frame that matches it. All five seats in this guide work on either frame. The Sparco frame is the simpler install because it uses the factory sliders. If you want to add a Recaro or OMP seat to the car later, start with the OMP frame. Corbeau PSR: the everyday choice

The PSR is where most C2 owners start, and the fit range goes a long way towards explaining why. It covers 32 to 38 inch waists and all heights, it is drilled for both bolt patterns in this guide, and it comes as a pair, which is the more common way people buy on a car with two doors. For a C2 that does road miles most of the week and a circuit evening now and then, it covers the job without overspending on a seat that stays in the car all year.

  • £279.00 inc VAT per seat, sold as a pair (£558.00)
  • 32 to 38 inch waist, all heights
  • Drilled for both 291mm and 345mm bolt patterns
  • 4 point harness compatible
  • Vinyl trim

Sparco R100: the cabin-width pick

The R100 is the seat the C2 frame description calls out by name, and the reason is the bolster profile. In a C2 cockpit where the door card sits close to the seat shell, the R100’s lower bolsters are the seat least likely to cause a fitment problem before the frame is even torqued down. Sparco list it as suitable for all waist sizes and for drivers both over and under six foot, so it is the first seat to try if you are not sure what clears in your specific car. At under £300 for a single, it is also the cheapest route into this guide.

  • From £282.00 inc VAT in cloth; £335.00 in vinyl
  • All waist sizes, over and under six foot
  • 345mm x 271mm pattern: both frame routes
  • 4 point harness compatible
  • Specifically called out in the Sparco C2 frame listing

Sparco R500: more shoulder support, same forgiving shape

The R500 is the R100’s bigger brother. The backrest is taller, the shoulder sections are deeper, and the foam is dual density in both base and backrest, which holds its shape better on a long run than single density foam. It keeps the same 345mm pattern and works on either frame in this guide. Pick it over the R100 if you want more upper body support at speed without the tight grip of a deep bolstered seat. The Sky vinyl trim is an easy-clean option worth knowing about if the car sees outdoor events.

  • From £329.00 inc VAT in fabric; £349.00 in Sky vinyl
  • 32 to 38 inch waist, all heights
  • Dual density foam in base and backrest
  • 345mm x 271mm pattern, both frame routes
  • 4 point harness compatible

Corbeau SVR: the low-roof pick

The C2 roofline is low, and the SVR is built for this situation. It sits lower than most Corbeau recliners, which buys back the headroom a taller driver loses in a small coupe. The shape gives better shoulder and thigh hold than the PSR, so for a C2 that does regular circuit evenings, the extra spend is worth it. It is sold as a pair and comes drilled for both bolt patterns, so it works on either frame in this guide without a runner change.

  • £510.00 inc VAT per seat, sold as a pair (£1,020.00)
  • 32 to 38 inch waist, all heights
  • Lower seat height than standard Corbeau recliners
  • Drilled for both 291mm and 345mm patterns
  • 4 point harness compatible

Corbeau Sportline RRS: the step-up for circuit use

The RRS has more shoulder and hip bolster than the PSR but stays usable on the road. For a C2 that does regular circuit evenings, this is the step up that makes a real difference through corners: your body stays placed without you having to brace against the door card, and your arms do the steering. The Low Base version is worth considering on a C2 because the roofline is close, and it gives back some headroom without changing the overall support shape. Both versions are drilled for both bolt patterns and fit either frame in this guide.

  • From £498.00 inc VAT (Low Base single)
  • 32 to 38 inch waist, all heights
  • Low Base version recommended for the C2's roofline
  • Both 291mm and 345mm patterns, either frame route
  • 4 point harness compatible

Getting it bolted down

The Sparco frame (14804) is the simpler install on this car because it works with the C2’s own factory sliders. The frame bolts to the factory floor mounting points on cars from October 2002 onwards. Remove the standard seat, bolt in the frame, and the original sliders carry the seat fore and aft as normal. No separate runner purchase is needed for any of the five seats in this guide on the Sparco route. Driver and passenger sides are sold separately from the same product listing.

The OMP frame (15760) gives access to the 405mm bolt pattern as well as 345mm, useful if you want a Recaro or OMP seat on the car later. Unlike the Sparco frame, the OMP route needs sliders to be added. For seats at the 345mm pattern, the Sparco slider kit (184229) is the one to order. Tell us the seat and frame combination before you order and we will confirm the complete kit.

One note for both frames: they are sold per side. A pair of seats means two frames in the basket.

Common questions

Do I need to drill the floor?

No. Both frames bolt to the factory mounting points on C2s from October 2002 onwards. Torque the floor bolts to spec and check seat belt buckle clearance before you drive: a sport seat often moves the buckle to a new position.

The Sparco frame says it uses factory sliders. What does that mean in practice?

The C2's standard seat runners stay in place when you fit the Sparco sub-frame. The sub-frame bolts over them, and they do the fore-aft adjustment job they always did. In practice, there is no separate sliding runner kit to buy for the Sparco route. If the factory runners are worn, replacement original sliders are the answer, not aftermarket running rails.

Will any of these seats foul the door card on a C2?

Shell width is a real consideration on a C2. The Sparco R100 is the seat the frame listing specifically calls out for this car, because its lower bolster profile fits where wider shells can foul the sill. If you are not sure whether your chosen seat will clear, measure the widest point of your cockpit at seat height and compare it with the seat's published shell width. If you need help confirming fitment before ordering, drop us an email or click to open a chat.

Why are the frames sold per side?

Both frames are listed per seat position, with RHD driver and passenger side versions. A pair of seats means two frames in the basket. If anything on a listing is unclear, ask before ordering.

Would a fixed bucket seat suit my C2 better?

Possibly, if the car is track-only. A reclining seat gives you the road usability back, which is why most C2 owners doing dual-purpose motorsport go this route. Citroen ran the C2 in a dedicated one-make cup, and the VTS is the version that appeared in club motorsport in the UK after the Saxo VTS. If your C2 already has a roll cage and you want to see what the sport seats and harness setup looks like on a built car, we put a write-up together on a customer build with Sparco Rev seats and a 6-point harness: Citroen C2 track build.

What I would actually buy

For most C2 owners starting here, it is the Corbeau PSR on the Sparco frame: solid fit range for most builds, and the factory sliders mean there is nothing extra to order.

If you are building a car for regular circuit use and want more support, the Corbeau RRS is where to go. The Low Base version is worth the conversation on a C2 because the roofline is close.

For the cabin-width concern, the Sparco R100 is the one. It was called out in the frame listing for this car because the lower bolster profile fits where wider shells run into the door card. All in at under £400 for a single R100 and one Sparco frame if you are only changing the driver seat.
