The SW Motorsports BMW E92 Super Low Direct Fit Subframe, part SWS-BMW-E92, fits the E92 3 Series coupe floor and provides a super low seating position with a 345mm Sparco-compatible bolt pattern on top. Driver and passenger sides are sold separately.
The E92 ran from 2006 to 2013 and covers the 318i through to the M3 with its 4.0-litre S65 V8. The M3 E92 is the car most commonly seen at circuit days in this generation: the V8 torque, the stiff body and the optional M-DCT gearbox made it a capable and popular track tool. The standard M Sport seats in the E92 were power-adjustable with heating and memory, and weighed substantially more than a competition bucket. Removing them and fitting a fixed seat on a proper subframe is one of the more significant weight changes available to an E92 owner without touching the drivetrain.
The “super low” designation matters for the E92 coupe in particular. The coupe roofline is lower than the saloon or touring versions, and taller FIA bucket seats with high side bolsters can bring a driver’s helmet uncomfortably close to the headlining at standard subframe height. The super low geometry addresses that constraint without requiring any modification to the floor itself.
The subframe bolts to the existing E92 floor mounting points. No drilling is required on a standard car.
