The SW Motorsports Audi TT Mk2 Direct Fit Subframe, part SWS-Audi-TT-Mk2, fits the second-generation TT (internal code 8J, 2006 to 2014) and accepts a Sparco-pattern bucket seat at the standard 345mm centre-to-centre spacing. Driver and passenger positions are sold separately.
The 8J TT covered a wide range of specifications: 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI front-wheel-drive versions through to the 3.2 V6 quattro and the TT-S and TT-RS quattro variants. The floor mounting geometry is consistent across the 8J range regardless of drivetrain. The 8J platform is a version of the PQ35 structure that also underpins the Audi A3 8P; the mounting points on the TT are specific to that body style and differ from the A3, so confirm you are working on the TT rather than an A3 or S3 before ordering.
The TT-RS in particular was a regular hillclimb and sprint competitor: the turbocharged five-cylinder, the quattro AWD and the stiff 8J body made it a capable platform for timed events. Standard TT-RS seats were Recaro units, heavier than a bucket seat and mounted higher. The standard 1.8 TFSI also sees circuit use in budget builds where the low purchase price of the base car is the attraction. Either version of the 8J uses the same floor and the same subframe.
The subframe bolts to the existing TT floor mounting points. No drilling required on a standard car.
