The Seat Leon MkII sits on Volkswagen Group’s A5 platform, which it shares with the Golf MkV and Audi A3 MkII. Recaro developed sub-frame 86831626 for that chassis specifically. The kit replaces the standard floor hardware with a Recaro-pattern runner assembly, using the Leon’s own floor bolt holes throughout. No modifications to the bodyshell are required.
This covers the full MkII Leon production from 2006 onwards, through the FR and Cupra variants. All of them use the same floor mounting positions, so the sub-frame applies across the range.
The frame positions the seat at the angle and height Recaro calculated for the Leon’s cabin. A universal side mount achieves fitment, but at the cost of some of that geometry. For a car where the driver position was part of the design, that distinction is worth considering.
