This Recaro sub-frame (part number 866916-2007) fits the Volkswagen Touareg, VW’s large SUV produced from 2002. The Touareg sits on an air-suspension platform shared with the Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7, and the factory seat position is high, with a floor significantly above that of a road car. The sub-frame uses the Touareg’s OEM floor mounting points with no modification to the vehicle.

A large SUV such as the Touareg is not an obvious candidate for a sport seat upgrade, but the Touareg’s heritage includes serious off-road use and Dakar Rally participation, and the standard seats in the performance diesel variants are reasonably well-suited to steady motorway progress rather than dynamic driving. The Recaro sub-frame brings improved lateral support from a base-mountable Recaro seat into the car at the correct height for the Touareg’s cabin geometry and seatbelt anchor.

Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable seats only. One sub-frame, one seat position. Note your Recaro seat model at checkout.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
