This Recaro sub-frame (part number 86.26.16-993) fits the Porsche 911 993 series, the last air-cooled 911 built from 1993 to 1998. The frame uses the 993’s OEM floor mounting points without any modification to the car’s structure, a consideration that matters on a classic that has seen significant appreciation in value.
The 993 cabin is narrower than the water-cooled 911s that followed it, and the original seat was comparatively thin by today’s standards. Recaro’s sub-frame for this generation positions a base-mountable seat at the correct height and angle for the 993’s seatbelt anchor and the car’s floor profile. Fore-aft adjustment is retained through the integrated runners.
