A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Toyota MR2 Spyder on the W30 chassis, 1999 to 2007. Part number SB227.

The third generation, sold here as the MR2 Roadster. The AW11 takes SB177 and the SW20 takes SB057, and all three are quite different cars.

The lightest of the three

Toyota went back to first principles for this generation: no turbo, no boot, around 1,000kg, and a chassis widely considered the best of the three to drive. It is the purest MR2 and the least loved commercially.

Because it is light, a heavy steel framed shell gives back a real slice of the advantage. Ask us about the lighter options.

Roof down, so think about trim

There is no fixed roof at all. Whatever you fit gets rained on and sat in wet. Ask us about trims that shed water rather than absorb it, because velour in an open car is a mistake you make once.
