The third generation. We list all four and none interchange: 1989 to 1994 is SB048, 1995 to 1999 is SB236, this is SB118 and 2006 to 2012 is SB105.
What changed, and it is the whole story
Mitsubishi dropped the turbocharged four wheel drive combination for this generation. The 4G63 and the all wheel drive system that made the first two generations worth having simply went, replaced by a naturally aspirated V6 driving the front wheels.
That is worth saying plainly. If you came here expecting the Eclipse people talk about, this is not that car, and the earlier listings are where to look.
On its own terms
They are cheap, the V6 is smooth and they are a perfectly reasonable first car to build. The standard seat is soft and gives you nothing.

This frame is made for the Mitsubishi Eclipse (2000-2005). Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
