A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Toyota Land Cruiser 60 Series, J60, from April 1986 to 1989. Part number SB266.

The April date is the whole point of this listing. Toyota changed the seat mounting partway through 1986, and vehicles built before March that year take SB268 instead.

Check the build plate rather than the registration year, because a vehicle registered late in 1986 could well have been built before the change. If you cannot find the plate, send us a photograph under the seat and we will work it out.

What the late 60 Series gained

The 1988 onwards cars got the 3F-E fuel injected engine and a considerably better interior than the early ones. They are the most usable of the 60 Series and the ones people restore.

Buy for the distance

These are expedition vehicles. A hard racing shell is the wrong tool for eight hours on corrugated gravel. Ask us about the more heavily padded options, and about neoprene rather than velour, because dust and water get everywhere in a 60.
