The Mirco RTS-2 in 3D SpaceTech, 334. Fibreglass, fixed back, side mount, FIA 8855-1999, four or six point harness compatible, HANS friendly, in 32 to 36 or 36 to 40 inch waist sizing, for drivers over or under six feet. Forty sold.
Forty sold
The most bought Mirco we list, and the cheapest RTS-2. The mesh trim is why: 334 against 349 for velour, and it runs cooler. Two widths and no height note mean it fits most people, and the homologation means it goes into most classes. Eleven photographs on the listing.
If black is not the answer
Mirco will do the mesh in black with green, blue, grey or red, and say they can go well beyond that, 250 colour options and more, if you ask. The shell itself can be coloured and your name can be stitched in. All of it is built to order, so the eleven photographs show the plain black seat that ships from stock.
The practical bits
Homologated to FIA 8855-1999; the expiry date is printed on the seat. Belts: four point or six, and six if a HANS is involved. Mounting: side mount, which means side mounts and a frame for your car on top, both listed separately. Give us the car and your waist size and we will put the set together. Two of these as a pair are on their own listing.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: The Mirco RTS-2 Stealth Edition, Fresh Through Our Showroom, and Audi TT Mk1 with Mirco RTS-2 Seats, A Track-Ready Build. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.
Is the RTS the roomy one?
Yes, the RTS has the largest internal feel of the Mirco range, which matches its measurements and our showroom experience. If you have found other shells pinch at the hips, start here.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers over 6ft and under 6ft in height with a 32in to 36in or 36in to 40in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
Is it FIA approved, and for how long?
Yes, it carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. Every FIA seat has a not-valid-after year printed on its homologation label, and that label date is what a scrutineer checks, so look at the label on the seat you receive and check it against your championship regulations. Buying new means you get the freshest label the maker currently produces.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
This is a side-mount seat: it hangs between side brackets, the motorsport-style stack with fine height and angle control. You will need the car-specific frame, and a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.
Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 4 point compatible and 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. Our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.
Can the Mirco factory logos be removed?
Yes, free of charge. Choose "Remove factory logos and embroidery" in the Factory Logos and Embroidery option when you order. Personal name embroidery is a separate option.
