FIA 8855-1999-homologated seat sized for a 32in to 36in waist. The showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call with your height and waist for the honest fit answer.
The Pro ADV Carbon was developed from the Pro 2000 which is widely used in many motorsport disciplines featuring high levels of the side support, support cushions to the kidney area and a new design of integrated head protection with integral shock absorbing foam. The seat has the same incline as the Pro 2000, making it ideal for either circuit or rally use and is suitable for use with HANS.
New levels in ergonomics, materials and, above all, safety are all found in this new Sparco Pro-Adv seat. Working closely with the FIA foundation to identify ways to improve safety, the Pro-Adv is a result of this collaboration. Increased rigidity and the use of impact-absorbing materials are the major advances found in the PRO-ADV. FIA approved.
Trim Upgrade: We are able to offer upgraded trim options to this Sparco seat, we can upgrade the central removable cushions to diamond stitched suede for additional comfort, feel and design. The white diamond stitching will cover the backrest and base cushion. For more information please contact us.
Pricing: Product pricing is for a single Sparco Pro Adv Carbon Motorsport seat.
Shell Construction: The Sparco Pro Adv C Bucket seat has a Carbon shell.
Weight: The Sparco Pro Adv Carbon Bucket seat is 8kg in weight. The carbon shell gives the seat exceptional strength and a weight saving of over 4kg compared to the fibreglass shell version.
Sparco give every shell a size letter, S to XL, and publish the weights. The letter tells you more than the model name does.
How Sparco size their seats
Sparco’s own rule for the Evo family is the clearest in the trade: Evo S up to a 32 inch waist, Evo to 34, Evo L to 36 and Evo XL for 38 and above. The rest of the range follows the same letters. A Circuit QRT is an M, the Circuit II is the L; the Grid Q is an XL; the Rev is S and M, the Rev II is L and XL; the Sprint is an M and the Sprint L an L.
QRT is Sparco’s resin transfer moulding, so a QRT shell is the lighter version of the same shape. The Master and Master Advanced are the newer 8855-2021 shells at 32 to 36 inch, and the ADV Prime is the 8862-2009 carbon seat for drivers over 6 ft.

Sprint L is the wide oneThe Sprint L is the widest FIA seat we stock at 40 to 42 inch. Nothing else in the Sparco range goes past a 40.
Measure yourself first
Four numbers decide whether a seat fits. Take them in the clothes you drive in, and write them down before you compare models.
AWaistAround your natural waist, not your trouser size. Trouser sizes usually run an inch or two under the real figure, and the waist bands on our product pages use the real one.
BSeated hip widthSit on a hard chair with your feet flat and measure straight across the widest point of your hips with a rule or a straight edge, not a tape that follows the curve. This is the number that decides whether a fixed shell is tight.
CShouldersStraight across the back at the widest point. Fixed back seats hold you here, so a shell that is narrow at the shoulders is uncomfortable long before it is unsafe.
DHeight and torsoYour height, and if you are over 6 ft whether that is mostly leg or mostly body. A long body needs a taller shell with the head support set higher.
Before you order
Check the car, not only the driver. Transmission tunnels, door cards and B pillars are what stop a wide shell going in. Our seat mounting and fixing points guide covers what to measure.
Side mount and base mount shells are not interchangeable. Which one you need depends on the car and the subframe, so pick the brackets at the same time as the seat.
If you run a HANS or plan to, filter on HANS friendly. The shoulder openings are cut to clear the collar.
FIA seats carry an expiry date on the homologation label. Check what your championship accepts and how long the seat has left, particularly on discounted older stock.
Send us your measurementsWaist, seated hip width, height and the car. We have fitted a lot of Sparco seats and will tell you honestly if the one you have picked is going to be tight. Call 0115 989 3488 or email Sales@GSMPerformance.co.uk.
Waist bands and heights are our product data, checked 6 September 2026. Size letters and weights are from Sparco’s 2019 dimension sheet; the Evo waist rule is Sparco’s own.
Will I fit in this seat? The maker sizes this seat for drivers with a 32in to 36in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
Is it FIA approved, and for how long? Yes, it carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. Every FIA seat has a not-valid-after year printed on its homologation label, and that label date is what a scrutineer checks, so look at the label on the seat you receive and check it against your championship regulations. Buying new means you get the freshest label the maker currently produces.
What do I need to fit it to my car? This is a side-mount seat: it hangs between side brackets, the motorsport-style stack with fine height and angle control. You will need the car-specific frame, and a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.
Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device? The shell takes 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper? Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. Our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.
