Pick the thread
Black, blue, green, pink, red, white or yellow stitching through the diamond pattern, on black velour or black with green, blue, grey, orange or red, and Mirco quote over 250 colour options beyond that. It is the seat for matching a livery cheaply: 341, and the stitching colour costs nothing extra. Thirty people have done it.
Two widths, any height
Standard 32 to 36 or wide 36 to 40, chosen at order, and no height note on the RTS.
Two photographs
Only two on the listing, so if you want to see a stitching colour before ordering, ask and we will send one.
Belts, FIA, fitting
Four or six point; six with a head and neck restraint. FIA 8855-1999, expiry on the label. Shell in black, blue, grey, orange, purple, red, white or yellow, and name embroidery, to order. Mounting hardware and a frame for the car are separate. Tell us the car and your size.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: The Mirco RTS-2 Stealth Edition, Fresh Through Our Showroom, and Audi TT Mk1 with Mirco RTS-2 Seats, A Track-Ready Build. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.
Is the RTS the roomy one?
Yes, the RTS has the largest internal feel of the Mirco range, which matches its measurements and our showroom experience. If you have found other shells pinch at the hips, start here.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers with a 32in to 36in or 36in to 40in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
Is it FIA approved, and for how long?
Yes, it carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. Every FIA seat has a not-valid-after year printed on its homologation label, and that label date is what a scrutineer checks, so look at the label on the seat you receive and check it against your championship regulations. Buying new means you get the freshest label the maker currently produces.
Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 4 point compatible and 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. Our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.
What do the colour options on the listing refer to?
The shell colour and the fabric/stitching colour are two separate choices. For example, a black shell with black fabric and red stitching means picking black for the shell option and black/red for the fabric option.
