A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Chevrolet Malibu, 1997 to 2003. Part number SB151.

General Motors also sold a fleet only version of this car as the Chevrolet Classic for 2004 and 2005, which takes SB150.

Be honest about what this car is

A front wheel drive family saloon built to a price, sold in enormous numbers, and never intended to be sporting. There is no version of it that changes that.

So the realistic reason to fit a shell to one is a high mileage car where the original seat has collapsed, and that is a perfectly good reason. A great many of these are still running with three hundred thousand miles on them and a driver’s seat that gave up somewhere around half of that.

If that is you, ask us about padded or reclining options rather than a fixed racing bucket. A hard shell in a Malibu is the wrong tool and you will know it within a week.
