Worth knowing if you are cross shopping: our Scirocco Mk3 listing carries this same SB029-4887 suffix. It is the same bracket. Volkswagen built the Mk3 Scirocco on the PQ35 platform alongside the Mk5 Golf with the same seat mounting, so one part covers both.

The wider SB029 family spans the Mk5, Mk6 and Mk7 Volkswagens, and the Mk6 Golf takes a different suffix again, SB029-4892, which is also the Seat Leon Mk3 part. Send us the registration and we will tell you which one you want.

What the Mk5 needs

The GTI is the car people build and it is quick enough that the standard seat is the limiting factor. Once a harness goes in, a seat that shifts under you undoes a good part of what the harness is doing.
