The short version we tell everyone across the counter: if your rig is aluminium profile, almost every motorsport seat we sell fits it. If it is steel tube, the maker usually provides the bracket that makes the same true. And if the seat is sewn to the frame, no seat swap exists and we will say so to your face. Everything below is those three sentences, done properly.

The two routes every guide is built on
The whole subject in one drawing. Route A: steel side mounts to the rails, shell to the mounts, four M8 bolts at 290mm. Route B: runners across the rails, base mounted recliner on top. Every rig guide below is these two routes applied to one brand.
Route A is the fixed back shell on steel side mounts: rigid, race-car right, and fixed where you bolt it. Route B is a reclining seat on sliding runners: the shared-rig answer, with a backrest that tips and travel for each driver. Then pick the seat for your body, not the rig
The rig decides the brackets; your height and waist decide the seat, and this is where most orders go right or wrong. The full method is in our will I fit guide, with dedicated pages for the 38 inch and 42 inch waist bands. The short table:

When the tables cannot settle it
Some choices need a body in a seat. The sim row stands on the showroom floor in Nottingham, the kettle works, and ten minutes of sitting beats any table on the internet. Common questions
My rig brand is not on the list. Am I stuck?
Almost certainly not. If it is aluminium profile with open T-slots, the hardware on every guide above fits it. If it is steel tube, ring us with the brand and model and Cameron will tell you which guide it behaves like and what to measure before ordering.
Do I need an FIA approved seat for sim racing?
No. FIA homologation is for scrutineering bays and your rig will never meet one. The Sparco sim range is the same shells without the paperwork at a saving, and an out-of-date FIA seat is a perfectly good rig seat, so ask what ex-display or date-expired stock we have.
Side mounts or runners: which do I actually want?
One driver who wants the race-car feel: side mounts, route A. A rig shared between drivers of different heights: runners under the seat, route B, and usually a recliner on top. The diagram above is the whole decision.
Can I put a proper seat on a Playseat or similar sling cockpit?
No, and we would rather say it here than after you have ordered brackets. On those cockpits the fabric seat is tensioned across the frame itself, so there is no interface to bolt to. When you outgrow it, every rig in the table above takes every seat we sell, and the seat you buy then moves between rigs for years.
Will the seat I buy for this rig fit my next rig?
Yes, and that is the quiet economics of doing this properly. The 290mm M8 side mount interface and the 345mm x 271mm base pattern are seat standards, not rig standards, so the shell and even the brackets usually move with you. Several of the seats above would bolt into a track car the day you get one.
Where do the mounting numbers on these pages come from?
The rig facts come off each manufacturer’s own manuals and product pages, read the week the guides were written, and the seat facts off the fitting sheets we use in the workshop. Where a number could not be verified, the guides say measure and ring us instead of guessing.
