Toyota GR86 bucket seat guide
2021 onwards
The GR86 shares its platform with the Subaru BRZ, and both Planted and PCI Racing confirm fitting frames for this exact second-generation car rather than the earlier GT86, which is a different platform despite the similar name. Custom Cages also confirm a roll cage specifically for the 2022-onwards GR86, so a proper competition build is a straightforward order here.
The Planted bracket is base mount, and the PCI Racing frame is a sliding subframe, which keeps fore-aft adjustment on a fixed seat. From there the seat you choose decides whether side mounts get added.

The fitting frame
Planted Technology confirm a bracket for the GR86 and BRZ second generation at £224.95, base mount. PCI Racing offer an alternative, a sliding sub frame at £330.00 confirmed for 2022 onwards, which keeps fore-aft adjustment built in rather than needing a separate runner. Both bolt to the factory floor mounting points. Most bucket seats on this page are side mount, so a set of side mounts on top of either frame is the usual route.

FIA competition bucket seats
Every seat here carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the cheapest FIA shell. The OMP TRS-X at £264.00 is listed for both base mount and side mount, so it fixes directly to either frame with nothing added. Harnesses
There is no harness made specifically for the GR86, so you are fitting a universal belt and working out the mounting yourself. The standard rear seat belt mounts are not rated for harness shoulder strap loads, so the roll cage below, a bolt-in harness bar, or a fabricated anchor point is needed.
The Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 and the TRS Magnum 6 Point Superlite at £294.00 are both FIA 8853-2016. The TRS Magnum 4 Point at £139 is FIA 8854-1998. All three carry a stamped expiry date regardless of wear. For a road or trackday car, the Takata Drift II and III and the TRS Clubman belts cost less, though none of those four are HANS compatible.

Roll cage
Custom Cages build an International Multipoint T45 Roll Cage Kit confirmed specifically for the 2022 GR86 at £1,932.30. The earlier GT86, 2012 to 2021, is a different platform and its cages, though sold under a similar name, are not built for this shell. We are not going to sell you one on the strength of the name matching.
If competing, check the specification against your class regulations before ordering, and keep the sign-off paperwork with the logbook. Pad any tube within reach of a helmet, and tell your insurer, because a cage is a notifiable modification.
