A Tillett B6 XL Screamer in carbon has just arrived in our showroom. Tillett seats are special order items for us, so when one comes through we like to open it up, check it over and photograph it before it goes out.
This one has been quality checked and is ready to dispatch or collect, and while it is here it can be sat in. It is the wide version of the Screamer, with a generous amount of room inside for bigger drivers.

The B6 Screamer
The B6 Screamer replaces Tillett’s popular B6F. Tillett redesigned the moulding process so the new seat is lighter and stronger than the one it replaces, and the shell weighs from 5.8kg. The back of the seat is more compact, which helps it clear a roll bar in a tight cockpit, and the belt holes sit higher to suit taller drivers.
The Screamer is approved to FIA 8855-1999, it side mounts, and it takes a 6 point harness. It can be used without padding, which lets you sit lower than you would in many seats. Options on our listing include the logo colour and the cushions.
How the XL fits a real driver
The XL is 3cm wider inside than the standard B6 Screamer, which makes it the one for bigger drivers. Our driver for the photos has a 34 to 36 inch waist and is 5ft 11in tall. There was still space around the hips, and plenty of room between the shoulders and the harness slots, which matters because the belts need to sit correctly over the shoulders.
The back is short, so we do not recommend it for drivers with a tall torso. You need enough of the head support behind your head. Garreth's advice is to send us your height and waist before ordering any Tillett.

Our updated Tillett range
We updated our whole Tillett range in 2022. Coloured logos are now an option on every Tillett seat, and each listing has new information on weight, intended use and design, along with bundle items at the checkout.
The fitting equipment has been updated too. Tillett make side mounts to suit particular seats, which gives an accurate fit to the sides of the shell, and we have bundled the right side mounts and sliding runner kits with each seat, so the seat and its fittings are matched. Tillett sliding runners let you move the seat back and forward to find your driving position.
New this year: the Tillett B8
High and low back Tillett seats joined our online store this year, including Tillett’s new B8, in fibreglass or carbon. The B8 holds the driver at an angle that suits a production sports car, and its twin skin construction is light and compact. It suits taller drivers who want to sit lower without giving up comfort on a long drive, and Tillett say drivers up to about 120kg are well supported with little or no padding.
