The Willans Supersport 4×3 Detachable Tail Harness (part number SPT322DTS) is the 3-point Supersport with one addition: the sub strap, also called the crotch or anti-submarine strap, unclips and comes away from the harness entirely. In a standard 4×3 configuration, the sub strap routes under the seat and back to the buckle, where it stays. On the DTS it is a separate component that you connect when you drive and remove when you are getting in or out.

That matters most in kit cars with a high sill, a tight cockpit or a fixed roof: getting in and out around a permanently installed crotch strap is awkward and wears the strap. With the DTS, the strap comes off, you get in, you clip it back. A Caterham, a Westfield, a replica or any car where access is restricted benefits from this. For a saloon with easy access, the standard SPT322 or SPT422 is simpler.

Carries ECE R16 road approval, not FIA. 45mm webbing, clip buckle, clip-in installation. Available in black, blue, red, white, silver and yellow. The SPT422DTS is the 4-point equivalent if your regulations or preference require the sub strap to be permanently fitted.

How long does an FIA harness last?

Does it work with a HANS device?
No. Only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device: not 4-point belts and not road harnesses. If you run or plan a HANS, look at the 6-point FIA belts in the range.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.

Collection and next day

If you would rather collect from the showroom, or need a next day service, contact us and we will upgrade the delivery. Ask before ordering if you have a date, because we can sometimes dispatch quicker from excess stock.
