The 50mm strap is the right choice when the seat’s harness slots are cut for 2 inch webbing only, and the wider 75mm strap does not thread through cleanly. Some race seats, particularly older bucket seats and narrower single-seater shells, have harness slots sized for 2 inch webbing as standard. Forcing a 75mm strap through a slot sized for 50mm causes wear on both the strap and the slot edge, and can allow the strap to bind on exit under tension. If the seat slots are 50mm, this is the correct version.
The 50mm strap also sits more like a Clubman harness in how it contacts the shoulder and across the lap, which some drivers prefer for a car used regularly on the road as well as the track. The lever-latch buckle releases by pulling a lever on the front of the buckle rather than rotating a disc.
At £150, the 50mm Nascar six-point is priced above the 75mm six-point Superlite (21G606, £138). Nine colour options. Not FIA approved; for FIA classes use the Magnum or Pro range. If seat slots and strap width are not a constraint, compare the 75mm six-point Superlite for a better price on a wider strap.
