The B6 is the seat most people end up in when they want a proper Tillett shell without paying for FIA paperwork they will never be asked for. Tillett describe it as a compact lightweight seat for performance and track day cars, and that is exactly where it sits. It holds you like a race seat but it is civil enough to drive to the circuit in.
The shell weighs between 4.5kg and 5.1kg, and Tillett are open about seat weights varying by up to 10 per cent, so treat that as a range rather than a promise. It comes in black gloss GRP with a Dinamica covered headrest panel fitted as standard. There is no padding, which sounds austere until you have run one in an open car in the rain and worked out why.
Width is the decision that catches people out. You choose between 40cm with the rolled edges cut off and 44cm with them left on. The 40cm is the one for a tight tunnel or a narrow sill. We also list a 40cm ultra low cut option on this shell. This standard B6 suits a 32 to 36 inch waist. If you are above that, look at the B6 XL instead, which is 30mm wider inside.
Worth being clear on one thing: this is the Road and Track B6, not the Screamer. It carries no FIA homologation. If your class needs an in-date FIA seat, the B6 Screamer is the same family and does carry 8855-1999.

Will I fit in this seat?

What do I need to fit it to my car?
This is a side-mount seat: it hangs between side brackets, the motorsport-style stack with fine height and angle control. You will need the car-specific frame, and a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car.
