The SW Motorsports Renault Megane Mk2 R26 Seat Side Mounts, part SWS-Megane-Mk2-SM, are confirmed to fit the Mk2 Megane RS floor geometry with the R26 specification in mind. Driver and passenger versions are sold separately.
The R26 was the performance peak of the Mk2 Megane RS range, sitting above the R225 in specification. It arrived in 2006 with a close-ratio gearbox option, Cup suspension as standard and a number of lightweight detail changes. For track use it was frequently stripped and run in regional time attack and sprint events. The heavy standard RS seats came out early in most builds.
These side mounts at £88.53 sit below the R26 direct-fit subframe (SWS-R26-Mount, £115). The choice between the two comes down to how your seat is drilled. A seat with side mounting holes uses these brackets; a seat with only Sparco bottom-mount holes needs the subframe instead. If you are still selecting a seat and want to know which type most club Megane RS builds use, call us and we can advise based on what we see coming through the workshop.
If you are running both seats on a road-legal car and the budget is a factor, side mounts are the lower outlay and the quicker swap. If the car is circuit-only and maximum seating height reduction is the priority, the subframe option takes the seat lower.
Drop us an email or click to open a chat and we can confirm this is the right option for your seat and Megane.
