This Recaro sub-frame (part number 862317-2001) fits the Volkswagen Passat and Passat Combi (estate). The Passat is a larger car than the Golf and A4 with a longer wheelbase and a cabin that gives more legroom and a different seat height relationship to the B-pillar belt anchor. The sub-frame uses the Passat’s OEM floor mounting points without modification to the car.

The Passat Variant/Combi estate shares the floor structure of the saloon in the relevant generations, so the same sub-frame covers both body styles. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats; not for side-mounted competition shells without adaption hardware. One sub-frame, one seat position. Order twice for both sides and note your seat model at checkout.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
