The material for a car that gets hot
Spacer fabric is an open three dimensional knit that lets air move through it rather than trapping heat at the surface. In the back of a car, where there is often less ventilation than up front and the glass is smaller, that counts for more than it does in the driver’s seat.
A rear passenger’s leg rests against this panel, and in a car parked in the sun a vinyl or leather panel there is genuinely uncomfortable for the first ten minutes. This is the one that is not.
Where it fits and where it does not
It reads as modern. In a classic being restored to original specification it will look wrong, and no colour choice fixes that.
In a car built to be used rather than shown, it is the sensible specification, and it is on the lower price tier with the vinyl and fabric panels.
Before you order the set
Rear panels usually wear far more slowly than fronts because the doors are opened less. Check whether yours actually need replacing, because sometimes the front pair is the whole job.
