Volkswagen called it a Bora in Europe and a Jetta in North America for this generation, then went back to Jetta everywhere afterwards. If you are researching what others have fitted, search both names.
The interesting versions
The VR6 and the 1.8T are the ones people build, and the Mk4 platform shares with the Audi A3 8L and the Seat Leon Mk1 of the same period. That widens the parts pool considerably.
The Mk4 also had the best built interior Volkswagen had managed to that point, which is worth mentioning: the standard seats are comfortable and well made, and the reason to change one is support rather than condition.
