A Planted Technology seat bracket for the VW Golf Mk6. Part number SB029-4892.
The same part number is on our Seat Leon Mk3 listing
Not a related design, the same bracket. That listing carries SB029-4892 as well. VW Group platform sharing means one part covers both cars, and it is worth knowing if you are cross shopping the two or hunting for a better price.
Within the SB029 family, the Mk5 Golf takes SB029-4887, a different suffix, so the Mk5 and Mk6 are not interchangeable here despite sharing the PQ35 platform. Send us the registration if you are unsure which you have.
The Mk6 GTI and Golf R
The Mk6 GTI got the EA888 engine and, on the Edition 35, a mechanical limited slip differential that transformed how it puts power down out of a corner. The Golf R took that further with four wheel drive.
Both are quick enough that the standard seat becomes the limitation rather than the chassis. The factory GTI seats are comfortable and reasonably shaped, and they still let you move once the car is loaded up. Once a harness goes in, that becomes the whole problem: the harness is holding you to a seat that is itself shifting.
Headroom
A Mk6 has decent headroom by hatchback standards, so you have more freedom over shell height here than in a coupe. Tell us your height and we will confirm.
Side airbags and occupancy sensing throughout, so tell us the specification before anything comes out. Handed, so order twice for a pair.
