A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Pontiac GTO, 1964 to 1967. Part number SB216.
The A-body GTO, generally credited with starting the muscle car era. It has nothing to do with the 2004 to 2006 GTO, which is an Australian built Holden Monaro wearing the same badge forty years later.
It began as an options package
Pontiac were not allowed to put a big engine in an intermediate car, so John DeLorean’s team offered the 389 as a Tempest option rather than a model, which slipped past General Motors’ own rule. It sold in numbers nobody predicted and the rest of Detroit followed within two years.
The 1964 and 1965 cars are the ones with that story attached, and the Tri-Power versions command the money.
Practical
It shares a floor with the Buick Skylark and the Oldsmobile Cutlass, each with its own part number here.

This frame is made for the Pontiac GTO (1964-1967). Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
