A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Mitsubishi Evo 8. Part number SB049-5001.

The Evo 7, 8 and 9 all sit on the CT9A chassis and share one bracket design, which is why this carries an SB049 suffix alongside the Evo 7 and the Evo 9. The Evo 10 is CZ4A and takes SB014 instead.

What separates the 8 from the others

The Evo 8 is where Mitsubishi introduced the Active Yaw Control refinements and, on the MR, the six speed gearbox and Bilstein damping. The 8 MR is the one people chase, and the UK FQ cars of this era are their own thing again.

Standard on most Evo 8s and part of what the car is worth. Values have moved a long way. Store them and their fixings somewhere dry and label them, and note a factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts.
