An STI is usually being seated for support rather than height. The standard seat sits you reasonably well but lets you move, and on a car that carries this much speed through a corner, and often on loose surfaces, that becomes tiring quickly and worse with a harness fitted.

The slider

The seat moves fore and aft after installation. PCI’s S1 slider bolts to the base with four bolts where a conventional slider uses two, which they describe as twice as strong as two bolt mounting.

In a car that is shared, or one used for stage events with a co-driver, the ability to reset the seat matters more than the small height saving an adjustable mount gives.

Construction

Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, and five and six point sub belt mounting locations built into the mount. That last point saves fabricating a crotch strap anchor, which on a six point installation is usually the awkward part.

Ordering

Side mount, for a competition bucket, on the factory seat mounting points so nothing is drilled and the originals come out whole. Handed, order twice for a pair.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Subaru WRX STI. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
