A Mustang is a big, heavy car that is usually still used on the road, which shapes the mounting decision. The slider means the seat still moves, and in a car that is driven to the circuit rather than trailered to it that matters more than the last inch of height.
The slider
PCI’s S1 slider bolts to the base with four bolts where a conventional slider uses two, which they describe as twice as strong as two bolt mounting. With a harness loading the seat rather than a seatbelt, that is worth having.
If the car is a dedicated track car and you want the lowest fitment, the Mustang adjustable mount sits lower and costs less.
Construction
Laser cut and CNC formed from a single piece of 1/8 inch carbon steel, with the bends placed to add stiffness rather than using thicker metal throughout. Gloss black powder coat, grade 10.9 8mm hardware, five and six point sub belt mounting locations built into the mount.

Side mount, for a competition bucket, bolting to the factory seat mounting points so nothing is drilled and the original seats come out whole.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on PCI frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
