The Cobra Roadster 7 for the MEV Rocket, a narrow fit bucket seat. Part number COBROAD7-MEV.
A very small car
The Rocket is tighter than most seven style cars, and width is the first thing that rules a seat out. This is one of the narrowest shells available with proper support built into it.
The measurements
750mm high, 460mm across the shoulders, 720mm front to back, on a 400mm base, at 7kg.
The 400mm base is the figure that matters. That is the width down at floor level, between the sills and clear of the transmission tunnel, and it is what gets this seat into cars where a normal one will not go. Standard sports seats have a base in the 500mm to 560mm range and simply foul the tunnel or the sill top rails.
Measure your own car at floor level between the sill and the tunnel, and compare it to 400mm. If it is close, send us the figure and we will check it against a seat before you order.
Low back, and why that suits an open car
Most Cobra seats run between 710mm and 910mm tall. The Roadster shells are deliberately shorter, because in an open car without a roll cage a full height shell puts the headrest surround into your sightline when you look over your shoulder.
In a car with no roof and no mirrors worth speaking of, that matters more than it does anywhere else.
Harness holes at extra cost, not addable later. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated. Base mount. Seat only.
