That is the important difference and it is why they cost what they do. They adapt the equipment already in your car to take a Cobra seat, rather than replacing it with a new base. So what you keep is the car’s own arrangement, and these make the seat fit it.

What seats they take
Base mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats from the Cobra range. They will not fit a side mounted seat without adaption bars or side mounts.
Cobra brackets are made for Cobra seats. A seat from another maker may work, but we cannot guarantee the fitment unless we have confirmed it with you first, and on an adapter part that caveat matters more than it does on a full frame.
