Why people change Defender seats
Usually comfort rather than lap times. A standard Defender seat gives you very little lateral support, and on rough ground or a long drive that is felt rather than observed. A properly bolstered seat on a solid frame changes how tiring the vehicle is to drive more than most modifications do.
The frame is the part that makes it solid. It picks up the existing mounting points, so there is no drilling and nothing to fabricate.
What comes with it
The base frame and the sliding runner. Cobra include the runner in the price; Sparco, Planted, OMP, Recaro and Corbeau charge for theirs separately.
Some vehicles need an airbag resistor so a warning light does not appear once the original seat is out. It is not in every kit, so tell us the year and we will confirm what yours needs.
What seats it will take
Base mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats, with a 291mm or 405mm wide handle. It will not take a side mounted seat without adaption bars or side mounts, and a Motorsport seat or a Cobra Nogaro needs side mounts adding to the order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?

Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
