The runner is in the price

Cobra include the sliding runner with the frame. Sparco, Planted, OMP, Recaro and Corbeau all sell theirs separately, so when you are comparing frame prices you are not comparing the same thing until the runner is added to the other quotes.

Practically it means the seat still slides once it is bolted in, which matters more than people expect on a car that gets shared or driven to the circuit.

What the frame decides

The frame replaces the standard seat runners and picks up the existing floor mounting points. It sets your final seat height and how far back you can sit, so it has more to do with how the car feels afterwards than the seat itself does.

In a Fiesta the thing to check is headroom with a helmet on. Measure from the floor pan to the headlining before you settle on a seat, and tell us the number along with your height. We would rather work it out with you than have a seat come back.

Before you order

Built around the Cobra seat range, so a seat from another maker is a cross compatible component rather than a designed pairing. Send us the model and we will check it first.

Base mount at 291mm x 330mm, the standard Cobra pattern. Priced per frame, which fits one seat, so order two if you are doing both sides.

What's included?

#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

NOT SUITABLE FOR OEM/FACTORY seats removed from other vehicles

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points.

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Cobra seats are handcrafted in the UK

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.

Working to a date, or not sure which trim to pick? Ring us before you order. Getting the specification right at the start is far easier than changing it later.
