The Cobra Evolution Pro-Fit Tartan Edition, an FIA 8855-1999 homologated bucket seat. Part number NF-EVPF-TARTAN.
The tallest shell, in tartan
935mm against 900mm for the Imola and Suzuka, so this is the one for a taller driver, with a period trim and the FIA homologation kept.
Eight tartan patterns, hand trimmed in the UK and let into the centre panel rather than printed. Tell us which you want at checkout and we will confirm before the seat is made.
Side protection and an open aspect
The Evolution is known for both, which usually pull against each other. The side protection is high quality, and the head side support is an integrated open design rather than a closed surround, so climbing in and out is not the ordeal deep sided shells make it.
On a shared car, or one you get in and out of repeatedly over a weekend, that is worth more than the specification suggests.
Specification
935mm tall, 555mm wide, 720mm deep on a 500mm base, at 12.2kg. That base is the widest of the three, so measure your cockpit at floor level before ordering.
Side mount only. Harness facility for 4, 5 and 6 point belts. HANS compatible. High tensile mounting bolts supplied. Three year warranty.
All heights, 32 to 36 inch waist. The GT version is 30mm wider at 36 to 38 inches.
Choosing between the three shells
Cobra build three side mount competition shells and they differ where it matters, at the base and on the scales.
The Imola is 900mm tall on a 475mm base at 10.3kg, the narrowest base and so the snuggest lower hold. The Suzuka T is 900mm on a 490mm base at 9kg, the lightest of the three, and those extra 15mm mean a little less grip on your lower body. The Evolution is 935mm on a 500mm base at 12.2kg, the tallest and the widest based.
So it is a genuine choice rather than a ladder: snug and heavier, light and slightly looser, or tall and wide. Send us your height, your waist over your race kit, and the width between the sill and the tunnel, and we will tell you which one actually fits.
Seat only. Tell us the car for mounts and a subframe.
