The Cobra Le Mans Tartan Edition reclining sport seat. Part number LMS-Tartan.
Tartan on a touring seat
Tartan was a genuine period trim, and it suits the Le Mans better than it suits a competition shell. This is a seat designed around retro lines and everyday use, so a period fabric in the centre panel reads as correct rather than as decoration.
Eight patterns to choose from: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern and Weir Ancient. Cobra hand trim these in the UK and let the tartan properly into the panel rather than printing it.
Made to order, so allow four to six weeks. Choose driver or passenger side at checkout, and tell us which tartan you want in the comments.
Against the Daytona Tartan
Cobra do two reclining tartan seats and the Le Mans is the narrower of them. The Daytona Tartan is 580mm across against 540mm here, slightly heavier at 13.5kg, and uses fabric rather than vinyl.
So if the cockpit is tight, this is the one. If you want the wider seat and prefer fabric to vinyl, the Daytona is worth looking at.
The seat
820mm tall, 540mm wide, 620mm deep on a 540mm base, at 13.4kg. Steel frame, reclining, with the orthopaedic style backrest that makes the Le Mans comfortable over distance.
Base mount at the 291mm pattern. 4 point harness routing. All heights, waists from 32 to 38 inches.
Before you order
Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated, so it suits road, show and touring use rather than a scrutineered class.
If you want tartan with FIA approval, the Imola, Suzuka and Sebring carry FIA 8855-1999 and have tartan options, though they are fixed back competition seats rather than recliners.
Seat only. Cobra frames include the sliding runner.
