The Cobra Imola GT Pro-Fit Tartan Edition, an FIA 8855-1999 homologated bucket seat. Part number NF-IMPF-GT-TARTAN.
The widest waist band in the range
36 to 38 inches. The GT adds 30mm across the shell, and on the Tartan editions that takes the fit further than anywhere else in Cobra’s competition seats.
If competition shells have pinched you before, this is where to start rather than concluding they are not for you. Measure over the kit you actually race in, not over a shirt.
Tartan without losing the homologation
Eight patterns, hand trimmed in the UK and let into the centre panel rather than printed. A period look on a shell that still satisfies a scrutineer, which most period trims cannot manage.
Tell us which tartan at checkout and we will confirm it before the seat is made.
The Imola shell
900mm tall, 590mm wide, 730mm deep on a 475mm base, at 10.3kg. That base is the narrowest of the three, so it gives the snuggest lower hold and clears a tight transmission tunnel where the others may not.
Side mount only. Harness facility for 4, 5 and 6 point belts. HANS compatible. High tensile mounting bolts supplied. Three year warranty.
FIA seats carry an expiry tied to manufacture. Ask us for the date on current stock if you compete.
Choosing between the three shells
Cobra build three side mount competition shells and they differ where it matters, at the base and on the scales.
The Imola is 900mm tall on a 475mm base at 10.3kg, the narrowest base and so the snuggest lower hold. The Suzuka T is 900mm on a 490mm base at 9kg, the lightest of the three, and those extra 15mm mean a little less grip on your lower body. The Evolution is 935mm on a 500mm base at 12.2kg, the tallest and the widest based.
So it is a genuine choice rather than a ladder: snug and heavier, light and slightly looser, or tall and wide. Send us your height, your waist over your race kit, and the width between the sill and the tunnel, and we will tell you which one actually fits.
Seat only. Tell us the car for mounts and a subframe.
