Mazda 3 (1.6 16V) bucket seat guide
BK and early BL, 2003 to 2010, 1.6 16V
This guide is specific to the 1.6 16V engine, covering the BK from 2003 to 2009 and the early BL from 2009, which share enough floor structure for OMP to cover them together in one subframe. If you have a different engine in the same generation, contact us before ordering rather than assuming it fits.
The 2.3 MPS in particular has a different configuration and is not covered by this part. If yours is an MPS, tell us and we will find you the right frame.

The OMP Direct Fit Subframe at £84.74 covers the BK from 2003 to 2009 and the early BL from 2009, sharing enough floor structure for OMP to cover both together. Send us the registration if you are not sure which chassis code you have.
The Sparco FIA Steel Side Mount Brackets at £75 and the Endurance Motorsport Sliding Runner Kit at £34 give the fixing options for seats using their own runners.

Competition bucket seats

The Cobra Monaco Sport GT at £224.17 is the practical starting point for a track day car. If you want FIA approval on a budget, the Mirco RS2 3D Fibreglass at £354.50 is well judged for the money. The Auto Style Type RS6-II Vinyl at £278 is the sensible starting point, comfortable for daily use with more support than the factory seat. For a genuine step up in lateral hold, the Sparco GT at £421.58 is well judged for the money.
Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £80 and 4-point clip-in at £100 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £205 and the Takata Drift II at £229 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, the cage goes in first. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £270, and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370.01 all suit a caged Mazda 3 going to competition or serious track days.

Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first.
