Honda Civic EG bucket seat guide
1992 to 1995, including EG6/EG9
Honda fitted double wishbone suspension front and rear to an ordinary hatchback, which nobody else was doing at the time. That is why an EG still handles better than it has any right to thirty years on, and why people keep building them rather than letting them go.
Three brands list an EG-specific fitting frame: Sparco, Corbeau and M2 Motorsport. Planted also confirm the bracket for this generation directly against the years, 1992 to 1995, not the model name; the EK that followed takes a different part.

Mounting
The Sparco direct-fit sub-frame (16963) at £87.00 uses the standard base-mount bolt pattern, compatible with Sparco, OMP and Corbeau seats. The Corbeau sub-frame (14612) at £245 covers both the EG and the later EJ, and is the brand-specific option for a Corbeau seat.
The Planted Technology bracket (18039, part SB041) at £222.60 covers 1992 to 1995 specifically. The EK that followed takes a different part (SB042), so confirm your generation against the years rather than the model name.
The M2 Motorsport sub-frame (16660) at £166.20 covers the EG and DC2 and is a side-mount design. Add the M2 base mount adaption bars (19431) at £47.40 to convert it for a base-mount seat. For general side mount, use the Sparco sliding runner kit (14036) or the Endurance Motorsport sliding runner kit (21512) for fore-aft adjustment.

Competition bucket seats
The Sparco Sprint at £252.00 and OMP TRS-E Velour at £239.40 are the accessible FIA-rated dual-mount options. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £282.00 is the steel-shelled alternative, with intrusion resistance a fibreglass shell does not offer.
The OMP Champ-R at £381.60 OMP First R at £294 and Mirco GT 3D at £324 are lighter fibreglass options. The Mirco RS2 3D at £425.40, Sparco Rev QRT at £414.00 and Sparco Grid Q at £438.00 sit at the upper end. The Corbeau Sprint X System 3 at £810.00 is the newest-standard FIA seat in this range.

The Sparco R100 Martini Racing at £349.99 and R333 at £449.47 give a step up in lateral support.
The Sparco R500 Fabric at £328.99 and R500 Sky at £349.00 sit between the R100 range and the premium options. The OMP RTS at £456.00 is the OMP recliner option. Roll cages
The Custom Cages EG6 International Multipoint T45 kit (236220) at £1395 is FIA and MSA approved, weld-in, built to Custom Cages’ International specification for this chassis specifically.
Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £96.00 and 4-point clip-in at £120.00 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £246.00 and the Takata Drift II at £274.80 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, the cage goes in first. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £324.00 and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 all suit a caged Civic EG going to competition or serious track days.

Common questions
Why does the EG handle so well?
Honda fitted double wishbone suspension front and rear, which was unusual for an ordinary hatchback at the time. That geometry is why an EG still handles better than it has any right to decades on, and it is a big part of why people keep building them.
Does the EK use the same sub-frame?
No. Planted list a different part for the EK (SB042) from the EG (SB041). Confirm your generation before ordering.
What is the difference between the M2 frame and the others?
The M2 sub-frame is a side-mount design by default. Add the M2 base mount adaption bars if you are fitting a base-mount seat instead. The Sparco and Corbeau frames are base mount from the start.
Is there a roll cage for the EG6?
Yes, a Custom Cages weld-in T45 kit, FIA and MSA approved, built to their International specification for this chassis specifically.
Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first. A 3-point bolt-in harness uses the standard seat belt anchor points and does not need a cage.
