1979 to 1998 (Fox Body and early SN95)
This is, without much exaggeration, the most modified car in the world. Fox Body Mustangs have been raced, drag-launched and rebuilt for four decades, and the aftermarket around them reflects it. Nineteen years of production, 1979 to 1998, sits on a single fitting bracket, spanning the Fox Body through to the early SN95.
OMP and Planted Technology both make the same point independently: the floor geometry between the Fox Body and the first four years of the SN95 is close enough that one part covers both, which is unusual. The generations either side use different brackets: the earlier 1974-1978 car and the later 1999-2004 car both need their own parts, not covered here.

Mounting
The OMP direct-fit sub-frame (15776, part HC853) at £95.84 covers 1979 to 1998, the Fox Body and the first four years of the SN95. OMP cover both because the floor geometry is close enough between them, which is unusual for a fitting frame to span two distinct platforms this way. It covers both the 345mm x 271mm and 405mm x 290mm bolt patterns, taking Corbeau, OMP, Recaro and Sparco base-mount seats.
The Planted Technology bracket (18059, part SB010) at £185.50 covers the same nineteen-year span. Planted note that the earlier 1974-1978 car takes a different part (SB170), and the later 1999-2004 car takes a different one again (SB040), so check your specific year falls within 1979-1998 before ordering.
The Corbeau direct-fit sub-frame (16887) at £245 is the brand-specific option for a Corbeau seat, also confirmed for 1978-98.
For side mount, the Sparco FIA steel brackets (13876) and Cobra steel side mounts (13891) both carry their own approval. The Cobra Premium sliding runners (120664), Sparco sliding runner kit (14036) or Endurance Motorsport sliding runner kit (21512) add fore-aft adjustment.

Competition bucket seats
Most seats here carry FIA 8855-1999 approval. The Cobra Suzuka T Pro-Fit at £561 is a premium option. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the accessible steel-shelled dual-mount alternative, with intrusion resistance a fibreglass shell does not offer.
The OMP Champ-R at £318, OMP ARS-R at £428 and Mirco RS2 3D at £354.50 are fibreglass options. The Endurance Motorsport Club Sport at £209.79 and Circuit at £296.10 are accessible track day options rather than full competition seats. The Sparco Rev QRT at £345 and Evo QRT at £475 sit at the upper end, both suited to a Fox Body or SN95 built for regular track use. The Auto Style Type RR at £254.60 rounds out the accessible options.

For a track day car, the OMP Champ-R at £318 is a lighter FIA-rated fibreglass option. If the car sees contact, the Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 trades some weight for a steel shell. Reclining sport seats
Reclining sport seats are base mount, fitting the sub-frame matching the seat brand. The Auto Style Type JW at £245.60 and Type AK at £235 are accessible starting points. The Sparco R100 Martini Racing at £291.66 and R333 at £374.56 give a step up in lateral support.
The Corbeau Sportline RRS Leather Elite at £1070 sits at the higher end of the Corbeau range. The Cobra Misano Anniversary at £1374.17 and Misano Anniversary Spec 2 at the same price are premium reclining seats with a level of finish well beyond the mid-range options. The Sparco SPR at £1549.12 is the seat at the very top of this range, for a full interior rebuild.

Roll cages
No Fox Body/SN95-specific cage currently availableEvery Mustang-branded roll cage in the current catalogue is either built for the classic 1960s-70s Mustang (labelled Historic, Fastback or Notchback) or for the S550 from 2015 onwards. None are confirmed for this generation. Contact us if you need a cage for a Fox Body or early SN95; a bespoke or fabricated solution may be the route, and we can point you in the right direction.
We would rather tell you this than list a cage that does not actually fit your car. If a genuinely fitting cage becomes available, this guide will be updated.
Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £80 and 4-point clip-in at £100 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £205 and the Takata Drift II at £229 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, proper anchor points are needed first, whether from a cage or an engineered harness bar. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £270, and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 are all suitable once those points exist.

The OMP frame at £95.84 covers the broadest bolt pattern range, taking Corbeau, OMP, Recaro and Sparco seats. The Planted bracket at £185.50 works with a wider range of seat types. The Corbeau frame is the brand-specific option if you are running a Corbeau seat.
Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first. A 3-point bolt-in harness uses the standard seat belt anchor points and does not need a cage.
