The Acura CL YA1 (1997 to 1999)

How a seat mounts in the YA1
Worth two minutes before you start looking at seats, because it decides which ones are worth looking at.
Base mount
The seat bolts down through its own base onto the frame, and the frame bolts to the car’s original seat mounting points. Planted list their CL frame as working with the vehicle’s standard seat belt clip buckle, which matters if you are keeping the factory belts.
What that means for your shortlist
Look for seats that can mount through the base. Plenty do: most steel framed buckets offer it, and nearly every reclining sport seat is base mount only. Everything on this page has been checked for it.
The fitting kit for the YA1

Which fitting kit fits an Acura CL YA1?
The Planted Technology frame, part SB233, which is listed for the Acura CL 1997 to 1999. It is the only kit we list for this chassis.
Will the YA1 frame fit a 2001 to 2003 CL?
No. That car takes Planted part SB251, a separate frame designed around its own bolting points. There is a separate guide for the CL Coupe.
Do I need to order two frames for a pair of seats?
Yes. The listing prices one frame and the seating position is chosen from the product options, so a driver and passenger pair means adding it to the basket twice and selecting each side.
Can I keep the standard seat belts?
