The Daimler Dart Story...
The Daimler Dart, also known as the SP250, is a classic British sports car that has become an interesting platform for enthusiasts looking to improve handling and driver engagement. The Daimler Dart was manufactured between 1959 and 1964, and its lightweight design and V8 engine give it plenty of character on the road.
As more owners begin using these cars for spirited driving, classic touring events, and occasional track days, upgrading the seating is becoming increasingly popular. A supportive bucket seat can transform the driving experience in the Dart, helping drivers stay properly positioned and in control while enjoying everything this unique classic sports car has to offer.
On cornering, you may find your self holding onto the steering wheel tighter than usual, tensing your thighs and legs against the central console and/or door card. You’ll probably find your weight shifting in the seat and having to re-position your self after the corner.
None of this is correct. Your seat should provide the right level of support so that you can grip the steering wheel only for steering, your legs should be supported and your weight shouldn’t shift around. The recommendations we provide are to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported allowing you to focus on the job at hand.

No Off-The-Shelf Brackets:
For the Daimler Dart, there are currently no off the shelf seat sub frame options available for fitting aftermarket seats. Because of this, installing bucket seats or reclining sports seats will usually require some level of custom engineering and fabrication. This often involves creating bespoke mounting brackets or adapting the original seat mounts so they work with the bolt patterns used by modern aftermarket seats. While this does add an extra step to the installation, it allows the seating position to be tailored more precisely to both the driver and the car.
To help with this process, we offer universal sliding runner kits that can be incorporated into custom mounting solutions. Our Sparco runners use a common 345mm wide bolt pattern, which works with most aftermarket bucket seats and reclining sports seats. For Cobra seats, we also offer Cobra runners that use the narrower 291mm bolt pattern designed specifically for their seats. These universal components can make it easier to integrate modern seats into a custom fabricated setup for the Daimler Dart.

Recommended Steel Frame Bucket Seats:
Steel frame bucket seats have the option to be side-mounted or base-mounted. Side mounting can give you some extra tilt adjustment; however, base mounting onto sliders or frames will provide a lower fitment.
