The top of TRS’s four-point MX-5 range. This is Magnum specification: 3 inch (75mm) webbing on both shoulder and lap straps, an aircraft-style rotary quick-release buckle, and alloy adjusters throughout. Part number MH229-0003-MX5.
The shoulder straps are cut shorter for the MX-5, roughly 105cm from the adjuster to the end of the strap against around 150cm on a standard belt. They wrap around a harness bar or cage bar behind the seat, so once wrapped the three-bar slide sits close to the bar with no loose webbing trailing behind. A bar is required: an MX-5 has no factory mounting point at shoulder height. Eye bolts for the lap straps are supplied with the harness. Both lap straps clip onto the eyebolts at the factory seatbelt floor anchor positions, which are the correct anchor points for this installation.
This is a road and track belt, not an FIA competition harness. For a sprint or circuit class requiring FIA 8853-2016, look at the TRS six-point FIA options in the range. The four-point suits road use and track days where a sub strap would be in the way between sessions.
Listed for the Mk1 (NA) and Mk2 (NB) specifically. The Mk3 (NC) and Mk4 (ND) have a different hoop position and bar geometry; call before ordering for those. Nine webbing colours available. Sold as a single belt. At £179, the Magnum is TRS’s premium MX-5 four-point, above the standard clip buckle version (MH340-300-MX5, £85) on webbing width, buckle type, and adjuster weight.
