The clip-in version of the TRS four-point for the Mazda MX-5 Mk1 and Mk2. Same belt as the bolt-in MX-5 four-point (MH340-300-MX5), with snap hook ends so the harness comes out of the car without tools. Part number 40M-MX5.
Two inch (50mm) webbing, clip buckle. The shoulder straps are cut shorter for the MX-5 at roughly 105cm from the adjuster, for wrapping around a harness bar or cage bar. Once wrapped, the three-bar slide sits close to the bar with no trailing webbing. The MX-5 has no factory shoulder anchor; a bar is needed. The lap straps clip onto snap hooks at the floor anchor points.
Clip-in is the more popular choice over bolt-in for an MX-5 used on the road as well as the track. With a clip-in harness, swapping back to the original seatbelts takes under a minute per side, which matters on a car that goes to work on Monday and to a track day on Saturday. The bolt-in version stays in the car and is simpler to install initially, but requires unbolting the strap ends to access the original seatbelt anchor points when the factory belts are needed again.
Ten webbing colours available, including pink and purple which are popular choices on MX-5 conversions. Sold as a single belt. For both seats in black, the pair listing (B40M-MX5-X2) covers both seats in one order at the same combined price. Road and track approved; not FIA. For FIA competition, see the TRS FIA harnesses in the MX-5 range. Listed for Mk1 (NA) and Mk2 (NB) only.
