A quarter of an inch sounds like nothing and it is the size most often needed. A spacer goes between the bracket and the seat, and the small ones are not usually about height at all: they are about angle and about clearance.

Where a quarter inch earns its place

Fixing a rub. A competition seat sitting hard against a sill, a seatbelt buckle stalk or a handbrake gaiter needs a few millimetres to clear it, not an inch. Trying to solve that with a bigger spacer raises you unnecessarily.

And correcting rake. Space one end of the mounting and not the other, and you tilt the cushion. A quarter inch at the front or the rear is often the difference between a seat that supports your thighs and one that does not, and it is a complaint people usually put up with rather than fix.

Measure first

Sit in the car with the seat where you want it and take the actual gap. Planted also make 1 inch, 1.5 inch and 2 inch spacers if you need more, and we would rather you ordered the right one than stacked these up.

Any change to seat height or angle moves your shoulder line, so reset harness anchor points afterwards.
