This is Planted’s own listing and it covers a genuinely wide span, because Volkswagen kept the seat mounting arrangement consistent across three generations of Golf and everything built alongside them.
It reaches further than the title says
We know it also fits cars Planted do not list, so we list those separately: the Scirocco Mk3 and the Seat Leon Mk3 both take brackets from this family. That is fitment work the manufacturer has not published.
The suffixes split the family by generation and that part does matter: the Mk5 Golf is SB029-4887 and the Mk6 Golf is SB029-4892. Send us the registration and we will name the exact part.
What these cars need
The GTI and Golf R are quick enough that the standard seat becomes the limitation rather than the chassis, particularly once a harness goes in.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
