Vinyl handles that better than any of the soft options. It wipes clean, it does not scuff at the edge where your arm rests, and it does not mark when something is spilt on it.
The trade is that it does not breathe, so it warms up under a bare arm in summer. On a headrest that hardly matters. On an armrest you notice it.
Where it sits on price
Vinyl, vinyl and fabric and spacer fabric share the lower of two price tiers on armrests. Leather, alcantara and leather and alcantara sit above them.
That gap is worth knowing, because on the headrests in this range every material costs the same. Here the choice actually has a price attached.
